If you know me or follow me on snapchat, then you know how much I love avocados (hence my daily avocado toast). It literally makes me so happy when I cut open an avocado and its perfectly ripened. I think avocados make everything better, whether it’s in a sandwich, a salad, even TOAST!
Even though avocado toast has become a crazy fad over the past few years I still can’t get enough. I probably have avocado toast for breakfast at least 3 times a week and if I don’t have it with toast I will probably have it with eggs. I usually make mine pretty simple with organic whole wheat toast, smashed avocados, pink salt, fresh ground black pepper, red chili pepper flakes, and a drizzle of organic extra virgin olive oil. It’s the simplest thing in the world to make besides cereal but it taste so good and is sooooo GOOD FOR YOU TOO!
Avocados are a heart healthy fruit which are high in fiber and potassium. They actually contain more potassium then a banana, which supports healthy blood pressure levels and cardiovascular health. Avocados have one of the highest amounts of fiber, about 7% in weight, which is said to aid in weight management and metabolic health. Along with these benefits, avocados have been proven to also help reduce high cholesterol, prevent cancer, reduce arthritis pain, help absorb more vitamins from plant foods, and can help protect the eyes from many eye diseases. With that being said AVOCADOS are a definite power food and should be added to your diet on a regular basis.
I found some yummy ways, on Pinterest, to turn your boring avocado toast into something even more delicious!
